WORK-BASED LEARNING RECOMMENDATIONS

Iowa Intermediary Network coordinators assist schools with ICAP (Individual Career and Academic Plan) components by connecting students with opportunities.  Our intermediaries utilize Future Ready Iowa’s Career Coach for student self-assessment.  They also assist students with career exploration components.  Many of these experiences are completed virtually through career exploration videos or connecting students to local employers through Zoom or Google Meets.

Your regional coordinators have assembled a collection of resources with suggestions for high-quality existing programs. You should connect with your Iowa Intermediary Network Regional Coordinator to determine specific applications for your district.

ICAP Purpose:

  • Prepares students for successful completion of core curriculum pursuant to 281—Chapter 12 by graduation from high school.

  • Identifies students’ post-secondary education and career options and goals.

  • Identifies 9 through 12 coursework needed to support students’ post-secondary education and career options and goals.

  • Prepares students’ to successfully complete, prior to graduation and in a planned timeline, the essential components 281—49.4(279)
