Statewide events connected to CTE standards to connect classrooms with engaging industry experts. Each event registration is free and includes a direct connection of the event to industry standards, topics covered in the event, and example assessments articulated to the content covered in the event. Information and registration is provided below. If you are unable to make an event a recording will be available 1 week after each event.

Cupcake Wars, Iowa Edition

Pastry chefs will compete for audience votes and highlight keys to successful business practices. This event will cover family and consumer science standards 1.1., 2.2 and 11.0.

Healthcare Worker Demonstration/Panel

Healthcare professionals will provide a live demonstration on how to properly use PPE and discuss professional experience with techniques to reduce the spread of infectious disease. The event will cover state health science standards 3.1.5, 7.0, 7.1, 7.2 and 7.3.

The Importance of Play in Student Learning & Development

Viewers will have the opportunity to learn how center-play is essential to early childhood education. The event will cover family and consumer science standards 1.1, 2.2 and 13.0.

Agricultural Career Day (Virtual Panel)

Agriculture industry professionals will connect essential skills connected to agriculture careers. This event will connect with agriculture standards CS.05, CRP.01.01 and CRP.10.01.02b.

Agricultural NOW (Virtual Panel)

Panel experts share forecasts for agriculture industry outlooks in Iowa and abroad. The panel will cover agriculture standards ABS.05.01, CS.01.02 and CS.01.01.

Careers in the Skilled Trades

The Iowa Skilled Trades Association is collaborating to provide industry professionals with an introduction to careers in: plumbing, HVAC, electrical, residential construction, and commercial construction. This event will connect with applied sciences, technology, engineering and manufacturing standard 1.3.

Growth Opportunities Within Iowa Businesses

Learn about large businesses in Iowa that allow for ample internal career advancements. This event will cover business standards 3.1, 3.3, 12.3 and 12.5.

Iowa High School Tech Summit

The Iowa High School Tech Summit Presented by Principal Foundation is designed to inspire and engage students to tech careers and technology companies from across the state.

Emerging Technologies

Join TAI in a statewide virtual event in recognizing great tech careers here in Iowa.

Helping Others: Counseling & Mental Health

Students will have the opportunity to learn from industry professionals how various partners work together to support teens with counseling and addiction/recovery centers. This panel event will cover family and consumer science standards 1.1, 2.2 and 10.0.
